Terms of Reference

To promote and enlighten the public on the important role of the Consulting Engineering in the economic development of the Country.

To monitor events of national interest as they occur and recommend to Council actions that should be taken by ACEN.
To be technically aware of the development policies and aims of both the Federal and State Governments and to guide or direct these policies by writing reports, memoranda for presentation to government by the Council.
To liaise with the press, government establishments and parastatals, industries and the private sector in enhancing and furthering economic viability of the services offered by the Consulting Engineers.
To undertake any public relations activities necessary (e.g. visit and discussion with Clients, Workshops, etc) for the understanding, acceptance and application of the Conditions of Engagement of Consulting Engineers.
To continuously monitor the public “image” of the Consulting Engineer and ascertain a favourable element for same.

To protect Consulting Engineers as technical leaders and partners in progress for the development of Nigeria.
To ask for waivers on unreasonable terms for prequalification criteria.
To pressurise NAPIMS and DPR to ensure that government policies are enforced in relation to local content in consulting Engineering activities for Oil and Gas.
To lobby/liaise with National Assembly on debates on engineering issues.
To subscribe to public charitable activities.

To participate and cooperate in the activities of NACCIMA.
To ensure inclusion of exportation of consulting engineering expertise in export promotion activities.
To cooperate with Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
To pressurise NETCO to use facilities of local firms rather than foreign firms in project execution.
